Winning Off the Track

Greyhounds are among the oldest and most revered breeds of dogs. In the United States, most greyhounds are bred exclusively for racing and hold little appeal for their handlers once their racing days are done. But a dedicated group of people work tirelessly to help them get adopted as pets once their life on the track is over. Each October, the greyhound community comes together to celebrate the beauty of these unique animals during a weekend known as “Greyhounds Reach the Beach.”

This heartwarming documentary, while following the events of the 2006 Reach the Beach gathering, illustrates the importance of the work being done by greyhound adoption groups and provides insight into why these magnificent dogs have touched so many lives.
